Forbes Cattle Sale

Conducted Monday 16-07-2018

Yarded 1719. Quality was mixed but a good selection of prime grain fed yearlings and export heavy steers were Included in the offering. Competition was strong and prices improved again. The prime yearling steers were up to 9c a kilo dearer. Heifers improved 10-14c a kilo but plainer grades were cheaper. Heavy steer prices improved 3 to 5c and cows were 20c dearer compared to last week's sale.

Forbes sheep and lamb sale

Yarded 37,220 including 25,033 lambs. Although quality varied from very light lambs to excellent quality grain fed prime heavy lambs the huge gallery of NSW, Victorian and SA buyers were presented with a very good selection of prime grades. In the dearest market ever trade weight crossbred and merino lambs were $6 to $8 dearer and heavy lambs lifted by $12 to $15. There were two new CWLX records with merino lambs to $250 and crossbreds to $281.
