Forbes agents penned 49328 sheep and lambs this week which included a total of 33482 lambs. There were 13000 new season lambs which were $4 to $5 dearer.Β All the usual NSW and Victorian buyers were competing, and the old trade and heavy lambs were firm to slightly dearer. Prime merino lambs and also all hoggets sold at fully firm rates. New season lambs averaged 1180c to 1220c a kilo D/W and shorn lambs varied depending on quality from 1070c to 1200c. There were 15846 grown sheep penned, and prices were strong, more than regaining the slightly cheaper rates last week. All weight categories averaged over 800c a kilo D/W and light sheep averaged over 900c.
